Waref Abu Quba

About

Waref Abu Quba is a Syrian filmmaker, he was born in the city of Al-Tall, which is only 14 km from Damascus. He has a bachelor in Graphic Art from the Faculty of Fine Arts - University of Damascus (2008). Since then he worked as a freelancer filmmaker and motion graphic designer with major companies nationally and internationally. Early in 2014 he moved to Germany and he lives in Darmstadt.

2013 - To This Day

A participation as an animator in this animated film based on a spoken word poem written by Shane Koyczan called “To This Day”, to further explore the profound and lasting impact that bullying can have on an individual. This film has gained more than 18 million views on the internet.

2009 - Silent Thoughts

A short clay animation film, winner of the bronze award for the short feature film competition at Damascus film Festival in 2009.
